Job Summary

WRB Data & Analytic supports WRB (Wealth & Retail Banking), Finance and Risk projects globally in data delivery via data warehouse solutions. The team comprises data specialists, technology experts and project managers who collaborate with business stakeholders for end-to-end solution implementation.




SCB seeks to hire talented data professionals with relevant experience who will be able to work in global environment from internal and external talent pool.




To support the WRB Data Technology team in its objectives through a mix of: 
•    Data warehousing migration programmes that involve cross geography and multi-functional delivery
•    To align project timeline to ensure project success delivery. 
•    Provide support to Data Analysis, Mapping and Profiling
•    Perform data requirement gathering, analysis and documentation.
•    Mapping of data attributes from different source systems to the target data models and ensuring the same business rules are followed.
•    Interpreting use case requirement and design of target data model/ data mart 
•    Profiling of data attributes to assess data quality that affects referential integrity and provide remediation recommendations.
•    Ensures that data use is complies to the data architecture principles including golden sources and standard reference data.
•    Data modelling for better data integration within the data warehouse platform
Project delivery
•    Working Independently to engage consultants, business analysts from other business solutions team and escalate issues in a timely manner.
•    Providing good subject matter expert knowledge and recommendations to balance time critical vs longer term sustainability



Key Responsibilities

•    To work together with Chapter Lead, Squad lead to lead a project for success delivery that includes managing different stakeholders like business, other technology teams and internal development teams; Ensuring delivery is align to the timeline for each milestone.
•    Transform business requirement to data requirement, data analysis and profiling
•    Design data models for use cases and data warehousing
•    Create data mapping templates for Data Model mapping
•    Profile data to assess data quality, suitability and cardinality
•    Support data store’s inbound and/or outbound development 
•    Perform data acceptance testing
•    Responsible to provide direction on solution from a standard product / architecture perspective
•    Participate in key decision-making discussions liaising with business stakeholders
•    Support SIT and UAT.
•    Responsible to manage the change request effectively and efficiently during the project delivery with all agreed controls
•    Align with the bank process and standards and ensure there are no deviations
•    Deliver Functional specification to the development team while collating the requirements from various stakeholders
•    To support SIT & UAT in all project deliveries.
•    To ensure alignment to Data Quality Management Framework that includes Data Management through lineage documentation, data control to ensure data quality securities.

Domain knowledge & Technical skills
•    Graduate degree in the area of computer science or relevant degree
•    2-3 years of experience in banking domain/product knowledge with IT working experience
•    Must have good knowledge in writing complex SQL scripts. 
•    Base SAS knowledge is added advantage.
•    Good domain knowledge of Retail Banking and Wealth Lending data would be ideal.
•    Ability to seek and gain consensus in a multi-cultural, cross-border and matrix reporting environment
•    Knowledge management for MIS applications including business rules, mapping documents, data definitions, system functions and processes
•    Some working experience in business solutions, data analysis and design within SCB
•    Little work experience in Banking domain involving one or more of the following will be greated advantage.



•    Data integration and data warehousing
•    Financial and Regulatory reporting
•    Risk Management (Credit Risk – Retail & CCIB)
•    Data Mapping
•    Knowledge of Retail, Wealth Management and SME data. 
•    Good knowledge of Data Management and Governance. 
•    Very quick learner with strong interest in banking compliance and desire to acquire the knowledge and understanding of Retail Risk Data in the domain especially in Finance reporting like Basel Calculation Reporting Solution (Basel III/IV), Stress Testing Data Framework, . Excellent attention to detail and time management




•    Been in business analysis or data analysis roles supporting the above areas
•    Great data analytics and can conduct deep dive into business needs plus data profiling and fact finding
•    Good communication and Stakeholder management skills

•    Extensive exposure to all parts of the bank’s business model
•    Sound base for a future career in the broader data space (including analytics, business intelligence, ‘big data’ etc); the knowledge gained from this role will be invaluable in preparing individuals broader roles in the future
