Role Definition
Implements and improves testing, development and validation techniques, processes, tooling and machinery to maximize product quality.
 


Responsibilities:


•    Participating in the adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement.
•    Planning and improving testing procedures and operations to make the test more reliable, efficient and cost-effective.
•    Monitoring results, machine and process capabilities and performance reliability. 
•    Requires a degree in Metallurgy / Materials Science working in an Engineering function.


Degree Requirement
BE (Metallurgy / Materials Science) with 5 to 10 years of relevant industrial experience.

Good knowledge on different foundry operations right from raw materials till finishing stage


Conduct metallurgical analyses to optimize casting processes and ensure product quality.


Develop and implement process improvements to enhance casting performance and reduce defects.


Perform material testing and analysis to determine alloy composition, mechanical properties, and microstructure.


Investigate and resolve casting defects through root cause analysis and corrective actions.


Interpret and communicate metallurgical analysis data and findings to stakeholders.


Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.


Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and regulations related to metal


Process Optimization: Analyzing and improving casting processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and yield.


Quality Assurance: Implementing quality control measures to ensure castings meet customer specifications and industry standards.


Material Selection: Advising on the selection of appropriate alloys and materials for specific casting applications based on performance requirements.


Environmental Compliance: Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations related to foundry operations, such as waste management and emissions control.


Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency gains, and cost savings within the casting domain.


Additional desired skills -


ASNT Level II or equivalent certification in NDT viz. RT, MPI and DPT


Awareness on casting simulation techniques / methods


Knowledge on casting methoding


Awareness on Lab quality management system viz. ISO/IEC 17025


Awareness on various quality systems viz. ISO, IATF etc.


Computer savviness


Project management awareness
