The new standalone entity will leverage our nearly 70-year legacy in acute therapies and home and in-center dialysis to provide best-in-class care to the people we serve. You will play a key role in crucial role in supporting the testing and evaluation of water purification technologies in our state-of-the-art laboratory. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry with hands-on experience in performing a wide range of analytical tests and techniques. The Analytical Chemist will collaborate closely with our research and development team to conduct experiments, analyze data, and provide technical insights to drive innovation and optimize water purification processes.


What you'll be doing:


  • Contribute to research and development efforts to design, prototype, and demonstrate feasibility of new water purification technologies for medical applications.
  • Perform analytical tests and experiments to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of new and novel approaches to water purification and production of medical solutions.
  • Develop and validate analytical methods for quantifying key parameters such as pH, conductivity, turbidity, total organic carbon (TOC), dissolved solids, and specific contaminants in water and medical solution samples.
  • Utilize analytical instrumentation such as spectrophotometers, chromatographs, mass spectrometers, and titration systems to analyze water and medical solution samples and characterize treatment processes.
  • Prepare and standardize chemical solutions, reagents, and calibration standards for use in analytical testing and quality control procedures.
  • Collect, process, and analyze data using statistical software and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) to generate accurate and reliable results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot technical issues, interpret analytical data, and recommend improvements to water treatment processes.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and facilities in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks, technical reports, and presentations.
  • Stay current with advancements in analytical techniques, instrumentation, and regulatory requirements related to water quality testing and environmental monitoring.

What you'll bring:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry, analytical chemistry, environmental science, or a related field. Master's or Ph.D. degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience in analytical chemistry, preferably in a laboratory setting related to water treatment or environmental science.
  • Proficiency in performing a wide range of analytical techniques and instrumentation, including spectroscopy, chromatography, titration, and wet chemistry methods.
  • Experience with analytical method development, validation, and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of chemical principles, laboratory safety protocols, and quality assurance/control practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in data interpretation and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines for water quality testing, such as EPA methods and ASTM standards, is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
