How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?Subcontract Manager

 The Subcontract Manager is responsible for the development, preparation and management of all contractual elements of construction or module fabrication contracts or related aspects for a
specific project. His contribution is required during the estimation stage of a proposal (Estimation and Proposal).
For EPC or EP+CM contracts the Subcontract Manager is the responsible manager for the sourcing of Services and Contracts related to Site Construction activities (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation etc.), using budgetary measures,
 For all contractual construction and module fabrication, the Subcontract manager is responsible to formulate Standard Construction Contract and adjustment of terms and conditions in coordination and consultation with Legal as appropriate, before contracts are awarded to the service providers, contract
aspects including compilation of documents defining scope, with the help of construction manager and Engineering Manager (BOQ, scope of work, etc).
The Subcontract Manager coordinates and integrates various disciplines in order to perform his tasks. For his / her tasks he interfaces with, supports and/or performs as appropriate:


○ All engineering disciplines through project engineering manager, in order to clearly quantify, qualify and describe the work to be performed by the construction companies


○ Planning and scheduling, in order to reflect and coordinate time aspects with the construction subcontractors


○ Construction / commissioning management, to manage and coordinate the subcontractors in line with construction and commissioning requirements
○ Cost Control, on all issues which are required to set-up construction budgets, properly manage cost and budgets and control cost of the construction subcontractors
○ Commercial and Claim Management, on all issues related to commercial management of construction contracts,, back-charge management as well as change management for the construction contract and the main contrac
t ● Add Market intelligence viz steel, cement pricing, raw material and any other raw material

● The Subcontract Manager shall provide periodic reports (at intervals to be agreed) directly
● Subcontract Manager is the responsible contact person within Construction Management


Department to collate and coordinate all Construction contract-relevant aspects, including: - construction execution planning (by Construction Department), such as construction time schedule, site supervision manning, site assessment - cost estimation for construction (detailed work performed by Subcontract Management Department, construction cost estimation)
● Provide support and input to the Proposal Team, by: review and assessment of the client requirement to determine risks and requirements applicable to construction
● Coordinating all Construction contract relevant proposal lead the construction estimation process through: - performing a market and site assessment (supported by Construction) - ensuring, that construction cost estimation provides required input - issuing pre-inquiries to potential construction companies - developing, following-up and updating of an inquiry issuance and award time schedule split into the Construction contract elements defined through the
subcontract strategy
● Ensure proper progress reporting during proposals phase, supported with input from Construction Management
● Handle following aspects of Construction contract: - developing the subcontract strategy together with the responsible Proposal Manager or Project Manager - sourcing, pre-qualification, qualification and audit of the construction companies with support from Construction Management and other disciplines - ensuring that a complete construction/commissioning
budget, including Construction contracts, is defined in agreement with the Project Manager and cost control prior to project execution - interfacing with the Project Manager and Engineering
Manager to ensure the release of the Construction contract inquiry document. - Required to support other disciplines (HSE, QA/QC, Scheduling, Engineering) to ensure project specific documents are prepared for the inquiry document - coordinating technical clarifications from bidders as well as required updates and revisions to the inquiry document - preparing and
conducting a pre-bid meetings - evaluating proposals and preparing recommendations for contract awards - ensuring coordination of all construction / commissioning aspects with the Project Manager
● Subcontract Manager follow up on the support requests raised by the site team to coordinate and ensure required feed-back of the subcontractor issues
● ensures that updated information on all construction cost elements is available and makes this information available to construction cost estimation within the Project execution team.
● reviewing and preparing as appropriate all contractual correspondence with the subcontractors
● on a regular basis review, perform active status assessment and consult with the Construction
Manager and Commissioning Manager/team on the progress and scheduling of subcontractors work including critical issues
● prepare and lead regular review Meetings with each subcontractor
● prepare notices of non-conformance to the subcontractor
● approve the invoices of the subcontractor along with project Manager and Construction
Manager
● perform active status assessment and follow up on all changes affecting the Construction contracts, incl. such events, which result in claims, counter-claims, back-charges, construction budget changes, changes resulting from engineering changes ( with the help of engineering Manager) or procurement changes
● at the end of each Construction contract prepare a close out report for each Construction contract at the end of a project prepare the project lessons learnt report for Construction contract related topics

Required Qualifications And Competencies
Bachelor : Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required.
Proficiency in Site Construction aspects, and sub-Contractor management is required.
Management Degree in Procurement/ Supply Chain Management/ Global Sourcing is an
additional advantage.
Work Experience: 10 years of Procurement experience in a similar position of Category
Management at a Global Level in a mid-sized multi-national EPC Company.
Language required: Level required: English & Hindi proficiency; Fluent
