Role Overview


Ribbon Communications is seeking a System Architect to join the Muse System Architecture team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for system engineering and architectural definition, with a primary focus on writing and maintaining system‑level requirements based on Product Line Management (PLM) inputs, existing solutions, and industry standards.


This role is internal‑facing and involves close collaboration with R&D and PLM.


Key Responsibilities


  • Work closely with PLM team and R&D peers to lead Marketing requirements translated into implementation.
    • Analyze PLM requirements, existing system behavior, and relevant standards, and translate them into clear, consistent system requirements.
  • Ensure architectural alignment, consistency, and completeness across system components.
  • Act as a technical focal point for R&D teams on system behavior and architectural intent.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and cross‑team technical forums.
  • Monitor relevant industry standards and technologies and reflect applicable aspects in system requirements.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Master’s degree (M.Sc.) or higher - advantage
  • At least 3 years of experience in system engineering or system architecture roles.
    • Proven experience in system and functional requirement definition and documentation.
    • Experience working with or interpreting industry standards and specifications.
  • Experience with transport network management or control systems.
    • Experience in development/architecture of WDM/OTN management systems – advantage
    • Familiarity with SDN concepts and architectures - advantage
  • Practical experience using AI‑based tools to support professional workflows such as analysis, research, documentation, or decision‑making – advantage
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of proficiency in English (written and spoken).
