The Opportunity:




As a Transformer Accessory & Component Engineer, you will be part of Operation Center, India (INOPC-PG), aiming to develop a global value chain, where key business activities, resources, and expertise are shared across geographic boundaries to optimize value for Hitachi Energy customers across markets. How you’ll make an impact:



  • Support the standardization of transformer accessories and components by reviewing technical requirements, specifications, and applicable industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, quality, and other cross-functional teams to define accessory and component requirements for transformer projects.
  • Review and implement approved transformer accessories and components in design documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify technical risks related to transformer accessories and components and support mitigation actions to reduce their impact on quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Contribute to process improvements by sharing technical expertise, supporting standard work, and helping teams adapt to evolving projects and requirements.
  • Support the review and validation of accessory-related technical documents, drawings, and connection information to ensure reliable application in transformer designs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for transformer accessories and components by guiding colleagues, sharing best practices, and supporting technical knowledge transfer across the team.
  • Present findings to team members and engage in continuous learning of new tools and libraries.

Your Background:



  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering / mechanical engineering, or a related field with 3 to 8 years of progressive experience.
  • Working knowledge of international standards, including ISO, DIN, IEC, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Strong knowledge of transformer accessories, especially protection relays, valves, and bushings, with the ability to review technical details in accessory catalogs.
  • General knowledge of electrical connection diagrams for transformer accessories.
  • Strong teamworking skills and the ability to work independently.
  • At least two years of experience in transformer design or transformer component design.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Familiarity with Windchill and Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Strong communicator—both written and verbal—especially in technical discussions.
  • Knowledge about occupational health and safety, environment and quality management systems.
