About the role:

As a Drupal Senior Developer in the Donor Engagement Platform (DEP) space within the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit, you will focus on development and enhancement of DRUPAL websites. The DEP system uses DRUPAL as a Content Management System (CMS) and integrates with Google Analytics and Google Tags. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and managing DRUPAL -based websites and applications. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset to drive the project to success.

Your role also involves the optimization of solutions for performance, reliability, and scalability, while also implementing robust audit, monitoring, backup, and archival solutions to support compliance. Collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders, you will translate business needs into effective technical solutions, maintaining continuous dialogue with both business and IT teams to ensure robustness, accuracy, and consistency.

By designing and implementing sophisticated solutions, this role directly contributes to PDT’s ability to harness data effectively, enhancing decision-making capabilities, and ultimately, competitive advantage in the market. You will be adopting cutting-edge technologies and methodologies which will help Takeda drive innovation, adapt to new opportunities, and continuously evolve in an ever-changing business/technological landscape.

This position will align to the ICC and initially report to the PDT Delivery Lead for strategic direction as well as day-to-day management.

How you will contribute:

• Lead core execution teams, providing clear direction and effective delegation.
• Mentor and support junior team members, facilitating their development and addressing any concerns.
• Serve as a vital link between the execution layer and the management layer, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.
• Develop, implement, and maintain DRUPAL based websites and applications.
• Oversee the utilization and integration of DRUPAL as the CMS for the DEP system.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to DRUPAL sites.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Stay up to date with the latest DRUPAL developments, best practices, and industry trends.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other stakeholders, to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a similar field required. Master's degree in a similar field would be a plus
• 5-8 years of experience in DRUPAL development, with a strong portfolio of Drupal projects and DRUPAL Pantheon.
• Ability to independently manage and resolve all incoming Drupal requests, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and coordinate with the Pantheon team (including joining calls) to troubleshoot and address issues.
• Proficiency in PHP, Twig, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Experience with DRUPAL 8/9, including custom module and theme development.
• Strong understanding of DRUPAL architecture, APIs, and best practices.
• Experience in developing custom Drupal components and integrating Drupal as a headless CMS with mobile applications.
• Able to propose innovative, headless-first solutions for business requests and proactively remove blockers to keep the development cycle on track.
• Proficiency with Git or other version control tools like GitHub Advanced Security.
• Proficient in caching strategies and CDN mechanisms.
• Strong understanding of data management, segmentation, and Personalization techniques.
• Familiarity with JFrog for artifact management, New Relic for application performance monitoring, and Paper Trail for log management is highly desirable.
• Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tags integra.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Demonstrate ability to interpret and work with data (e.g., dashboards, reports, data quality concepts) and understanding of AI/ML fundamentals to adapt to emerging technology trends, identify opportunities for intelligent automation/insights and make data-informed decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in developing custom Drupal components and integrating Drupal as a headless CMS with mobile applications.
• Familiarity with web development.
• Strong familiarity with integrating Drupal with mobile and web applications.
• Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes), Development Environments.
