The Superintendent Power is responsible for leading, supervising, and coordinating all electrical power generation, distribution, and maintenance activities across the Majnoon Oil Field. This role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical systems supporting production facilities, camps, utilities, and critical infrastructure. Superintendent provides technical leadership, oversees site execution, and ensures alignment with KBR standards, client requirements.




Accountability / Expectations



  • Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of power generation units, HV/LV distribution networks, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and protection systems.
  • Ensure electrical systems operate within design parameters, safety limits, and reliability targets.
  • Lead fault investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
  • Provide expert guidance on electrical engineering standards, power system design, and safe work practices.
  • Ensure full compliance with KBR HSSE, electrical regulations, and international codes.
  • Review and approve electrical work permits, isolation plans, energization procedures, and switching operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, single line diagrams, load studies, and equipment records.
  • Coordinate electrical construction, installation, commissioning, and upgrade activities across the field.
  • Interface with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure technical alignment.
  • Verify contractor performance, quality of workmanship, and adherence to specifications.
  • Support integration of new facilities into the existing power network.
  • Supervise electrical supervisors, technicians, and contractors across multiple site locations.
  • Ensure competency development, training, and mentoring of Iraqi national workforce.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and enforce compliance with electrical safety rules and LOTO procedures.
  • Liaise with Operations, Maintenance, HSSE, and Planning departments to ensure seamless power support for field activities.
  • Monitor power system performance, load demand, and energy efficiency opportunities.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on electrical system status, outages, and maintenance KPIs.

Education



Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering




Experience



10+ years experience in electrical power systems within oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.




  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, generators, protection relays, SCADA, and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Proven experience in site‑based leadership roles (Superintendent, Supervisor, Lead Engineer).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi disciplinary teams in remote field environments.
