    The Deputy SIPD Security Manger undertakes the following core functions in conformance with Shell Corporate Security Group Security Standards (CS GSS):

    • Act as the rotational Deputy the Majnoon Security Manager
    • To plan all security activity and ensure it is aligned to the businesses’ IAP(s).
    • Represent SIPD Security at SOC and MoO Security meetings in the Basra area.
    • Represent and administer Shell contracted security provider ensuring all C&P procedures are followed and that Shell receives value for money.

    • Ensure all Security Sections included in Contractor ITT are focused,complete and support the business need.
    • Ensure the implementation of the Majnoon Security Strategy,with particular focus on Access Control and assurance using the technical systems.
    • Provide advice and guidance to the business on all security infrastructure design at facilities and locations.
    • Ensure that SIPD Security (SOC assignees) continues to develop into a robust department providing access control to all Majnoon locations.
    • Ensure that OP Security is fully integrated into the Majnoon Security Plan. Provide oilfield infrastructure in order to ensure the OP are able to sustain 24/7 operations on the concession.
    • Ensure that Shell Contract Holders are managing security correctly on the Majnoon Field. (all plans approved)
    • To conduct and maintain SRAs for all Shell-operated infrastructure and activity according to a timeline set by the MSM.
    • To establish and maintain an updated SRA database for all Shell infrastructure in Iraq.
    • Have a complete understanding of the security situation in Iraq,and to support the MSM by predicting any changes in the business plans or security resource requirement.
    • To be an integral member of the Shell Iraq Security Department leadership team.
    • To review and assess / audit the security plans of the security providers of our contractors,as well as those of any directly-contracted security provider contractors.
    • Ensure security activities comply with Iraqi law,Shell’s General Business Principles,the Shell Group Security Standard and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights in the Extractive Sector.
    • Responsible for ensuring the Security Competence requirements are fully integrated into the organization.


    The Deputy SIPD Security Manager should be capable of deputizing for the SIPD Security Manager and working, liaising and presenting from project to executive level. The successful candidate must also be able to perform to the following standards:

    • A high calibre security professional with a minimum of 10 years relevant security experience at a senior level, specifically with the following experience;
    o Iraq operational experience or similar extreme threat hostile operating environment.
    o Large oil and gas project or similar construction projects of similar size and scope, ideally with Shell.
    o Associated and demonstrable competence in Security Management of a complex project is essential.
    • Must have excellent communication skills – both written and oral. Must be capable of working, liaising and conducting briefings or presentations from the “fence-line to the boardroom”
    • A motivated individual with high levels of energy, excellent team working skills, a "can do" attitude, and when required, be prepared to stretch personal and business goals.
    • Is able to operate effectively within an asymmetrical, multicultural setting, under pressure and able to meet demanding timelines.
    • Proven track record in implementing and managing security initiatives in a multi-threat, multi-site and extreme security environment, and across business groups.
    • Pragmatic, consultative approach combined with expertise in leading edge security practices
    • Is a volunteer to deploy to, and operate in Dubai and Iraq.
    • Must have recent security audit, HSSE and ideally investigation experience.
    • Is able to operate effectively within a multicultural setting.
