Job Description
The main objective of the job:
The Business Development Officer position aims to support the BDC’s business growth strategy, partnerships and prospects - this is a core team position that will help support the organization to deliver its business development goals in the areas of employability, entrepreneurship and SMEs support, civil society engagement, and jobs growth. This position’s main purpose is to support business development and communication activities with donors, clients and partners.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Development Support (70%):
- Support the development of a business development pipeline of prospects, leads, proposals and new contracts
- Support BDC’s business relations and communications with donors in terms of new business
- Develop concept notes and proposals
- Support national and regional coordination, communications and meetings with donors, clients and partners in Jordan and the Middle East and North Africa
- Support the development of the BDC’s business development and communication products in coordination with project managers (capacity statement, success stories, presentation powerpoint, case studies etc.)
- Participate at donor and partner conferences and public events
Business Development Operations (30%):
- Work closely with the monitoring and evaluation team to capture and communicate on key performance indicators across the BDC’s projects and operations.
- Support the delivery of the new business development strategy
- Monitor and coordinate internal communications, feedback and inputs on the design of products and services for proposals
- Collect data for communication products
Minimum requirements for the position:
Education background:
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Economics, Political Science, Government, Public Administration, International Development, Business Administration and Management, Engineering, Information Technology, and Social Science.
Experience:
Minimum of (2) years of progressively responsible and relevant professional experience in technical writing
Competencies:
- (Fluent) English and Arabic proficiency for both oral and written communication is required.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships and coordinate all areas of responsibility with BDC middle and senior level staff, implementing partners, donors, and government officials.
- Past experience in working with international organization, managing projects with donors and INGOs/NGOs that are related to local development is an asset.
- Demonstrate understanding, eagerness, and capacities to commit to, and promote age, gender, and diversity principles and policies
