Job Title: Full-time Lab instructor in Chemical Engineering.
Classification: Faculty (Institutional Support)
Reports To: Dean, School of Engineering and Computing.
Location: Kuwait City, Kuwait
Job Purpose
The candidate is expected to teach different chemical engineering courses along with support the delivery of chemical engineering laboratory courses by preparing lab manuals and syllabi, setting up and testing experiments, delivering pre-laboratory presentations, supervising students during laboratory sessions, and assessing student performance through quizzes, lab reports, presentations, exams, and other approved assessment tools.


Position Overview:


The ideal candidate is a motivated and qualified professional with a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an internationally accredited university. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong laboratory and chemical engineering courses teaching skills, effective communication in English, and the ability to work in a diverse, interdisciplinary academic environment.


The successful candidate should have teaching experience and research interest in one or more of chemical engineering areas, including process modeling and simulation, renewable energy, environmental engineering, water treatment, separation processes, nanotechnology applications, or other related fields.


In addition to teaching responsibilities, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining laboratory records, documenting equipment usage, supporting laboratory safety compliance, preparing course portfolios, assisting with equipment and material requests, and ensuring a clean, safe, and effective laboratory learning environment.


The position also requires supporting faculty research within the area of specialization, assisting in exam proctoring, contributing to professional development activities, and participating in college and departmental services with commitment, accountability, collegiality, and professionalism. The candidate may also be assigned other related duties as directed by the school of engineering and computing.



Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.


  • Practical communication skills in English
  • University teaching experience (minimum three years).
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Interest and experience working effectively with a diverse university community.
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines

Responsibilities



  • Teach chemical engineering laboratory and related chemical engineering courses effectively.
  • Deliver course content clearly.
  • Support students in practical laboratory work, experiments, and technical learning activities.
  • Contribute to teaching in chemical engineering areas such as process modeling and simulation, renewable energy, environmental engineering, water treatment, separation processes, nanotechnology applications, or related fields.
  • Participate in research activities aligned with chemical engineering disciplines.
  • Work collaboratively in a diverse and interdisciplinary academic environment.
  • Support curriculum delivery, course preparation, assessment, and continuous improvement of teaching quality.
