General Manager - Lebanon, Jordan & Syria

Purpose of the role


Foster the success of the Amadeus Commercial Organization (ACO) cluster of Lebanon, Jordan and Syria to develop a sustainable market leadership. Actively lead the Travel Sellers commercial team and support other business units when required as a Cluster representative.


Responsibilities


  • Act as the commercial director of the Travel Sellers business line by leading the commercial teams
  • Develop and manage the relationship with the travel agencies and maintain strong ties with key players and accounts
  • Lead and inspire the commercial team through guidanceand coaching for optimal performance
  • Customers/Market - To be a figurehead in the market with customers and target customers. Establish a reputation as thought leader in the local market.
  • Profit and Loss - To be responsible for the growth of the P&L of the ACO (Amadeus Commercial Organization) and the retention and growth of revenues and EBITDA.
  • Business Strategy - Lead the creation and fulfillment of the 3 year Long Term Plan and detailed yearly Business Plans including Sales, Marketing, Products, Customer Delivery, People, Finance as well as identifying areas for Business Development and Innovation.
  • Operational Excellence - ensure the services provided to customers meet client expectations and SLA's. Seek productivity improvements through local and company initiatives.
  • Financial and Legal - ensure the business is run to high administrative standards and low levels of risk in financial accounting, legal contracting, administrative HR issues and in compliance with company and local standards.
  • Act as ambassador to Amadeus and represent all business units when needed in front of customers, governmental entities, airlines etc.

The ideal candidate should have the following requirements:


  • Bachelor degree from a reputable university. Master's degree an asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years of commercial management experience
  • Experience in managing senior client relationships and negotiations
  • Proven achievements in customer service-driven environments
  • Marketing knowledge and experience
  • Extensive experience in people management - motivation of individuals and teams, performance target setting and effectively dealing with performance issues
  • Knowledge of the Levant market is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the travel industry, both on provider and subscriber side.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English
