About the Role


We are looking for a proactive and experienced Installation Engineer to lead installation activities on-site, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This role is critical in delivering successful projects, maintaining strong customer relationships, and driving continuous improvement across installation operations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Take full accountability for safety, quality, and productivity during installation and handovers.
  • Ensure compliance with KONE installation methods, tools, and safety standards, including risk assessments where required.
  • Plan, organize, and manage installation activities, logistics, materials, and site resources.
  • Monitor and manage installation progress, costs, schedules, and risks, ensuring alignment with project plans (S-plan milestones).
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and quality checks, resolving non-conformities in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Lead final testing, ensure closure of all defects, and deliver a successful handover to maintenance.
  • Manage installation documentation, reporting, time approvals, and environmental compliance (waste and hazardous materials).
  • Act as the primary on-site contact for customers, ensuring clear and proactive communication.
  • Deliver a professional installation experience, ensuring customer satisfaction through safety, quality, and timely execution.
  • Lead and support installation teams, including KONE employees and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all site personnel are trained, certified, and competent.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, team motivation, and wellbeing.
  • Manage performance, identify training needs, and support team development.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with subcontractors, ensuring delivery commitments are met.
  • Support project teams in cost control, variation sales, and change order management.
  • Assist in verifying payment milestones and contract compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Drive LEAN practices and continuous improvement initiatives on-site.
  • Identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve workflows through team collaboration.
  • Coach and empower teams to enhance performance and adopt best practices.

Requirements


  • Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Elevator & Escalator industry experience is a must.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) qualification is desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management, including managing subcontractors.
  • Ability to comply with the Project Management Office, focusing on project scope, schedule, and budget, delivering within defined contractual requirements and objectives.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and project management tools.
  • Effective stakeholder management through the project management process.
  • Effective leader and coach with the ability to motivate a successful installation team.
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, diligent, organized self-starter with a strong orientation toward customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team and promote a harmonious environment.
  • Passion for mechanical and electrical vocations, with a proven track record and strong customer focus.
