Summary – basic function of the role


As Financial Controller (based in Ede), you are responsible for the financial reporting, compliance, and accounting governance of multiple EMEA legal entities. You ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, support statutory compliance across the region, strengthen internal controls, and act as a trusted business partner to stakeholders across Finance and Operations.


Working in an international matrix organization, you collaborate closely with colleagues across EMEA and our Center of Excellence in India, contributing to process improvements, technology optimization, and finance transformation initiatives.


Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities for EMEA entities.
  • Prepare and review financial reporting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, VAT, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits and maintain a strong internal control environment (SOX).
  • Monitor developments in accounting standards and local regulations.
  • Drive process improvements and support finance transformation projects.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders across Finance, Operations, HR, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
  • Support system and reporting improvements within OneStream and Oracle environments.

Skills and Competencies


  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and statutory accounting requirements.
  • Experience with financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance.
  • Experience with ERP systems, OneStream, Power BI, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across cultures and functions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as together with the team.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Good understanding of the German language (both reading and speaking) is a great advantage.
  • Understanding of the Spanish language is an extra plus.

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 6+ years of relevant accounting or financial control experience in an international environment.
  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or services organizations is preferred.
  • Big 4 or other public accounting experience is a plus.
