Job Description
We are looking for an HSE Officer/Supervisor – Solar PV for one of our clients with the following details:
Starting date: July 2024
Duration: 16 Months
Work Status: Resident, Single
Location: Qarn Al Alam city in Ad-Dākhilīyah region – Oman
Job requirements :
At least 10 years significant experience
With Solar PV and Wind projects experience mandatory
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in the renewable energy or construction industry, with specific experience in Solar PV projects preferred.
- Knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to construction and operation of Solar PV installations.
- Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to conduct HSE inspections, audits, and investigations, with attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
- Familiarity with emergency response procedures, first aid, and fire safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and HSE management software.
- Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and continuous improvement in HSE performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of worksites, equipment, and processes to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks to project personnel, contractors, and visitors to raise awareness and promote a culture of safety.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures to minimize recurrence.
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics, such as incident rates, near-miss reporting, and safety observations, and communicate trends to management.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure readiness to respond effectively to emergencies, including first aid, fire safety, and evacuation procedures.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and community stakeholders on HSE matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct environmental assessments and implement measures to minimize environmental impacts associated with Solar PV construction and operation.
- Review and approve contractor HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation, including incident investigations, training records, and regulatory permits.
