Job Description:

Job Purpose:

The DPO must ensure that the Personal Data Protection Laws (PDPL) and guidelines in the UAE are respected in the day-to-day performance of the companys business and commercial activities, and serve as the main point of contact within the organization, and between the company and the relevant data protection authorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be familiar with the local requirements of the PDPL and ensure that the company complies with such requirements.

  
  

• Advise and provide recommendations to the management about the interpretation or application of the laws and regulations related to protection of personal data.

  
  

• Implement the companys policies and procedures related to protection of personal data.

  
  

• Create a register of the companys activities including processing operations.

  
  

• Provide support to the companys employees in data protection to ensure compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.

  
  

• Moreover, ensure continuous knowledge sharing to the staff involved in personal data processing operations and the data protection audits.

  
  

• Handle queries or complaints on request by the company.

  
  

• Act as point of contact for data subjects who wish to exercise their rights under the PDPL.

  
  

• Monitor changes in laws, regulations and industry trends and practices, assess their impact on the company and recommend changes or adjustment as necessary.

  
  

Key Competencies/Skills:

• Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information security or a related field.

  
  

• Three or more years of experience in data protection compliance or a related field.

  
  

• Experience in a legal, audit, or risk management role is a plus.

  
  

• Knowledge of UAE data protection laws and practices is a plus.

  
  

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

  
  

• Excellent presentation and organizational skills.

  
  

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage sensitive and confidential information.

  
  

Working Days: Monday - Friday

Working Timings: 10 AM - 7 PM

Work Mode: Onsite

Experience: 4+years
