Experience Required: 5+ Years of Software Development
Position Summary:
Under administrative supervision of the Head of Development Team, this position is responsible for developing Hospital Information System using Oracle Forms & Reports and Java libraries.
To be considered for this position the successful candidate must have a B.Sc. in Computer Science (or equivalent), plus a minimum of 4 years’ experience developing applications (preferably Healthcare based) using Oracle Forms and Reports and Java libraries. The role requires the ability to design and implement cleanly designed, user friendly and modern looking user interfaces. The developer will participate in the full life cycle of an agile or waterfall projects by designing and developing user interfaces and applications. They will need to be skilled in conducting unit testing to ensure high quality bug free code. Additional duties include decomposing business and system architecture to support clean-interface multi-team development. The developer will need to have a strong understanding the business problem statement, user stories, and technical constraints. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a diverse environment and be able to multitask many work streams at once. This associate will mentor junior staff and have be able to take ownership of tasks assigned. The role requires a detail-oriented and highly motivated self-starter, who can work closely in a collaborative role with other team members.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Core Role Responsibilities:
Work closely the Software Engineering team with responsibility for the following task:
• Perform systems analysis, design, and development
• Design and implement secure code for software applications
• Perform testing and maintain large software applications
• Follow Software Configuration Management techniques and practices
• Perform iterative code development
• Perform troubleshooting and supporting production applications
• Assist other developers with technical solutions
• Evaluate, identify, and present alternatives for software
Required Skills and Experience:
•Oracle Forms 10g/12c, Reports 10g / 12c, Oracle 19c/12c/11g, PL/SQL, Toad, SQL Developer, Cron Jobs. Must have experience with PL/SQL.
•Experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful web services
•The candidate needs to be very well versed in Agile, providing daily standups, ability to create user story, adhere to a 2/4 week sprints and use Jira for the scrum board backlog.
•Oracle Apex is a plus.
•Oracle BI Publisher is a plus.
Desired Skills (Not essential but beneficial to have):
•Experience working with Oracle Forms and Reports
•Development, design, and production support experience
•Ability to contribute to design and architecture discussions
•Experience in creating design/technical documentation
•Experience in different application servers
•Experience in developing Design patterns and UMLs
•Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology and tools (such as Version One, Rally, or JIRA)
•Proficient in Extensible Markup Language (XML)
•Extensive knowledge of SOA principle, design patterns, application and integration architectures.
•Extensive experience with Unit Testing
•Familiarity with developing and deploying applications in OCI
Educational Requirements:
•B.Sc. in Computer Science or other equivalent technical discipline.
