What You'll Do

As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing cloud-native data protection solutions. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Understanding business and technical requirements and implementing software solutions aligned with product architecture and design.
  • Enhancing the Enterprise Data Protection (EDP) platform to support a growing ecosystem across public cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services using Java and modern software engineering practices.
  • Writing comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Ensuring software deployments meet functional, performance, and quality requirements before release.
  • Collaborating closely with developers, architects, QA engineers, and product owners to deliver high-quality features on schedule.
  • Participating in code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Team

The Enterprise Data Protection (EDP) team develops Teradata's comprehensive data protection and migration solutions designed to support customers on their journey to the Autonomous Knowledge Platform.


Built on a modern microservices architecture, EDP delivers secure, reliable, and efficient data migration capabilities while also providing critical assessment, validation, monitoring, and error-detection features. The platform helps ensure a seamless and trusted data protection experience for enterprise customers operating across multiple cloud environments.


What Makes You a Strong Candidate Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in software design, development, and delivery of enterprise applications.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and complexity analysis.
  • Solid understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and SQL.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting experience in Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience developing microservices and containerized applications using Docker.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and knowledge-sharing skills.
  • Experience using AI-powered development tools for code generation, review, and productivity enhancement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, SQL, Git, and Jira.
  • Experience with one or more public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Teradata databases or other enterprise-grade RDBMS platforms.
  • Exposure to cloud-native applications, distributed systems, and scalable architecture patterns.
