DESCRIPTION:
Join our team as a Software Test Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll contribute to ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. You'll work on advanced products that support scientific research, from mass spectrometry instruments to laboratory automation systems. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, ensuring our software meets the highest quality standards. This position offers opportunities for growth and development while contributing to our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree required, 0-2 experience
• Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or related field
• ISTQB or equivalent software testing certifications preferred
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and quality control processes
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
• Experience with test automation tools (Selenium, TestComplete, JUnit)
• Expertise in writing and executing test plans, test cases, and test protocols
• Experience with defect tracking and test management systems (JIRA, TestRail, ALM)
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git)
• Knowledge of performance and API testing
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within cross-functional teams
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements
• Experience with laboratory equipment testing is a plus
