Job Role / Responsibilities:


You will be expected to act as an expert clinical staff responsible to provide guidance, assist the health care team in maintaining optimum processes of nursing care. You will report to the Nurse Manager, Paediatrics and collaborate with nursing staff and clinicians in providing educational opportunities for the healthcare providers, participate in collaboration with NES and Department of Peads (NICU) in teaching and staff development activities including orientation and training programs and specialty-based courses.


You will be responsible to:


  • conduct clinical reviews of all patients with staff and acts as a resource person to develop strategies for staff management, learning and develop competency for better patient care outcomes
  • carry out teaching activities related to clinical care, staff development, and providing assistance in patient care management on a daily-basis  and staff performance evaluations
  • assure competency development and evaluation of the nursing staff performance
  • monitor nursing staff’s skills to identify gaps in theory and its integration in practice
  • ensure timely updating of credentials, participate in establishing standards of care with unit staff and monitor delivery of care according to set standards
  • monitor and facilitate clinical outcomes of patients, develop and monitor clinical indicators
  • review clinical care processes of assigned areas and clinical care guidelines.

Requirements:


You should have:


  • a BScN degree from an accredited school, preferably having a MScN or Master’s degree in relevant discipline and a valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council
  • at least six years of relevant experience including 2-3 years at clinical teaching at a tertiary care hospital
  • excellent exposure in teaching and learning, developing educational plans, conducting independent courses as well as implementing of in-service sessions
  • certification in specialty-based competencies, including BLS, ACLS, ECG interpretation, ventilation management, NRP etc.
  • strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • willingness to work in shift duties.
