Providing best in class product development services to Thermo Fisher Scientific Global Business Units, is one of the core functions of the India Engineering Center (IEC). This Global Research and Development Center, established in 2009, is in My Home Twitza, Hyderabad, with over 150 employees. We are a team committed to develop innovative and groundbreaking technologically sophisticated products ranging from laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, remote monitoring solutions.


Position Objective


The role leads projects primarily in support of global operations strategy for the Chromatography and mass spectrometry division ensuring that they are delivered on time and with the desired outcome by leading and motivating the project team assigned consisting of subject matter authorities & functional leaders. You will ensure that each project adheres to the project management process. You will have a high degree of autonomy to achieve project goals & objectives.


What will you do ?


  • Successfully manage programs and projects through a formal stage gate framework
  • Plan department budget and track actuals vs forecast, and report out consistently
  • Contribute to establishing sustaining & NPI portfolio operating mechanisms, structure and process
  • Develop detailed project timeline for strategic and/or business critical projects including information such as project charter, objectives, scope, coordinating resources to drive impact and project acceleration.
  • Analyze, plan and develop requirements and standards in reference to scheduled projects
  • Determine and define clear results, roles and responsibilities for team members required for specific projects or initiatives
  • Supervise daily tasks to ensure all project team members are actively working toward established achievements and results, and ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Establish and implement a project communication plan and develop information communication procedures.
  • Confer with project personnel to coordinate activities and identify and resolve problems
  • Coordinate between business principals to ensure project needs are met
  • Prepare timely project status reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information and calling out risks for key partners
  • Initiate, review, or approve modifications to project plans in conjunction with business principals
  • Build and present project report outs to leadership.
  • Works towards growing Site engineering services as a business
  • Build relationships with business leaders and divisional teams to drive efficiency in the project approval and implementation phases.
Education
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent
  • PMP certification will be an added advantage
  • proven experience managing projects in product based company for 12+ years
  • Experience gained from leading projects across a global organization is desirable.
  • Experience of significant capital investment projects or establishing new sites, product transfers, consolidations is desirable
  • Confirmed understanding of project management tools and methodology.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments, business unit leadership, and Thermo Fisher divisions.
  • Ability to build plans that align with partner expectations.
  • Anticipates needs and problems while crafting solutions.
  • Ability to influence others and partner cross functionally.
  • Strong communication and Strong team building skills and the solid ability to work with a diverse group of people to develop credibility and forge proven and positive professional relationships with peers and management.
