Chief Civil Structural Engineer - DOH01FZ
Primary Location
: QAT-DW-Doha Forecast requirements for civil/structural resources and allocate those resources to various projects and work assignments. Technical supervision of project designated civil/structural designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties.
Job Specific Knowledge : Thorough knowledge of the applicable engineering design and construction civil/structural codes, standards and best practices for both onshore and offshore. Knowledge of civil/structural detailing and capability to develop construction friendly and economic connection and support details. Experience in life extension assessment projects will be an advantage.
Industry Specific Experience : Extensive work experience as a Principal engineer within the Oil & Gas industry. Proven experience of leading a team of civil/structural discipline engineers and designers. Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in the civil/structural discipline in the same or similar industry, including experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
IT Skills :
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training People Skills : Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required. Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
Familiar with international standards such as AISC, API, ASTM, BS, etc. Sound grasp in both onshore and offshore civil and structural analyses
User of SACS and MS Office Suite of Software, STAAD Pro and MathCAd.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage
