Job Description
The
Mechanical Workshop Small Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring that all off
aircraft maintenance work is performed to approve data and quality standards.
Reporting to the Deputy Depth Maintenance Manager for the organization,
administration, control and efficiency of the Part 145 Bay Operations
The post
holder will be an experienced and skilled technician undertaking a range of
detailed maintenance activities on an aircraft or aircraft component,
demonstrating the ability to derive diagnostic techniques. Responsible for
maintaining airworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorization
on an aircraft or aircraft component. Responsible for tasking of work
& supervision of personnel/people management. Responsible for meeting
agreed delivery targets at a tactical level. Demonstrates people
management and leadership skills. Demonstrates awareness of broader external
dependencies and identifies areas for continuous improvement.
Requirements- Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications. Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraft platform training (On a/c requirement)
- Experienced and competent leader at this level. Requires a minimum of 2 years working at Technician level prior to undertaking a Supervisor role. Demonstrating breadth of experience, currency & rec-ency via a Log Book capturing skills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft type or in bays. Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
- A comprehensive knowledge of Expositions and Functionally Mandated Procedures Management training.
- PDR training / experience
- Strong customer awareness with experience of his culture, ethos, policies, capabilities and processes
- Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent
- Fully experienced and competent in hands-on Customer Support by providing a complete service in the context of maximizing gain for the Company
- Strong people management and motivational skills
- Operational and business management, especially within the aircraft maintenance environment
- Knowledge of managing and implementing effective safety management systems (SMS) in aircraft or related environment
