MTBE Process Controller
Location: Petrochemical Production Facility
Department: Production – MTBE
Reports To: MTBE Shift Engineer
Job Summary
Responsible for monitoring and controlling MTBE plant operations through the Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure safe, stable, and efficient production. Supports troubleshooting, emergency response, startups/shutdowns, and process optimization while maintaining compliance with operational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control plant operations via DCS.
  • Maintain process parameters within operating limits.
  • Adjust plant load as directed by the Shift Engineer.
  • Identify and resolve process abnormalities and deviations.
  • Respond to plant emergencies according to SOPs.
  • Participate in startups, shutdowns, catalyst loading/unloading, and special operations.
  • Review shift logs and conduct effective shift handovers.
  • Support troubleshooting and prepare technical inputs/reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Mentor and support junior operators and trainees.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience
  • 4–6 years of DCS operation experience in MTBE or petrochemical plants.
  • Minimum 4 years of independent panel operation experience.
  • Experience with MTBE, Oleflex, Butamer, or Ethermax processes preferred.
