Bayt.com Poll: Job Seeker Journey in the Middle East and North Africa

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is vast, vibrant and imbued with diversity. Its job seekers are ambitious and always seeking new career opportunities. Searching for a job isn’t easy in a competitive market such as that of the MENA region. What are the tools job seekers depend on during their hunt? How accessible and useful do they find such tools? In order to measure how job seekers find their ideal jobs in the region, Bayt.com - the Middle East’s #1 Job Site - conducted a poll titled ‘Job Seeker Journey in the Middle East and North Africa’.   • 95.5% of respondents reported using online job sites to find and apply for jobs.
  • The majority (83.4%) of respondents agreed that they can find many relevant jobs online related to their background and experience.
  • 66.2% of respondents said online job sites are useful because they group all available jobs in one easy-to-access place”.
  • 76.5% of respondents find online job search tips and information useful to their job search.
  • 71.8% of respondents claimed that they look for jobs on a daily basis.
  • 61.6% said they like having a job search mobile app because they can search and apply for jobs on the go. Data for the2017 Bayt.com ‘Job Seeker Journey in the Middle East and North Africa’ poll was collected online from July30th,2017 to September13th,2017. Results are based on a sample of9,481 respondents. Countries that participated are the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen, Iraq and others.
