Commodity Lead Buyer

We seek a talented and skilled Commodity Lead Buyer to join our multicultural and diverse Supply Chain team in Kuwait. The Commodity Leand Buyer specialises in procuring specific types of goods and materials. You will play a critical role in managing and optimising the company’s commodity strategy, focusing on cost, quality, and supply chain stability in the medium to longer term.
Duties may include but will not be limited to:

• Developing and managing commodities in accordance with Total Cost of Ownership and Category Management principles.
• Leading planning processes – identifying upcoming requirements and aligning sourcing strategies accordingly.
• Identify key sourcing criteria – determining critical factors for each commodity required, including quality, total cost of ownership, and lead times.
• Facilitating and fostering strategic partnerships through effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Utilise ERP planning systems for procurement activities, driving automated solutions.
• Price and contract negotiations – leading and supporting negotiations regarding the commercial contracting of goods or services.
• Continuous Improvement – drive continuous improvement initiatives regarding commodities under management.

Required Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in economics, finance or supply chain management
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing commodities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
• Mastery in vendor sourcing practices, market research, and contract negotiation
• Understanding of supply chain procedures and quality standards
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
