Fire Protection Senior Specialist

Job Purpose / Objective  

Take responsibility for creating products and methods and to prevent and extinguish fires. inspect building or other sites to identify potential fire hazards. They also ensure compliance with applicable fire prevention laws, rules, regulations, codes, and ordinances.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities   

• Inspect fire alarm systems and sprinkler systems to ensure they are functioning properly and have been installed according to code.
• Conduct emergency evacuations of buildings when necessary to ensure the safety of occupants.
• Prepare fire prevention plans and educating the public about fire hazards and prevention techniques.
• Inspect commercial buildings to determine if they are in compliance with fire codes.
• Respond to fire emergencies, including investigating the cause of fires or explosions to determine whether they were accidental or intentional.
• Inspect commercial buildings for fire hazards such as blocked exits or overloaded electrical circuits.
• Inspecting commercial buildings for compliance with local building codes.
• Operate fire suppression equipment, including fire hoses, extinguishers, and fire pumps.
• Training other firefighters or other members of the fire department on how to use firefighting equipment.
• Protect a building's occupants and minimise the damage associated with fire.
• Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
• Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
• Perform all other tasks/duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Education/ Professional Qualification

• Educational       : Bachelor’s degree in fire science, fire protection engineering, fire protection administration or a similar field.

Experience 

• At least four (4) years’ experience in the same field.

Professional Licensing / Certification / Training 

• Certification       : NICET Certification
