Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Aquaculture Fish Laboratory and Biosecurity Professional. The successful candidate will play an important role in control and operate the fish laboratory as well as biosecurity functionalities to maintain and develop protocols across the organization, supporting the aquaculture managers and stakeholders to ensure their compliance. The role will work closely with production areas (Onland and Onshore) to ensure high standards on the operational fish welfare and through this, the profitability of our aquaculture business.

Fish Laboratory and Biosecurity Professional will coordinate and support the fish laboratory operations and the biosecurity frameworks ensuring to provide a service of accurate, state of art and on time results that allow to take decisions for improve the fish welfare in their main areas (fish – nutrition – environment). The role require communication and coordination within the Aquaculture sector as well as external governmental stakeholders in the Kingdom. The Specialist will additionally provide business support to the Aquaculture Pillar and coordinate business reporting and other administrative support functions as is needed.
Position description and responsibilities
Maintain a working knowledge of the laboratory techniques and equipment as well as legislative and regulatory requirements related to diseases, pest animal management. (KSA & international standards)
Develop baseline assessment reports related to Fish health using the laboratory equipment and techniques in efficient manner.
Assessing any bio risks that may be present within Aquaculture facilities & partners, and creating solutions to fix any biosecurity hazards
Develop and maintain aquaculture biosecurity protocols, processes, and procedures in accordance with industry best practices.
Support surveillance and investigation activities as they relate to fish health and disease control.
Train staff on biosecurity practices and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations, and support compliance inspections.
Monitor and audit biosecurity measures to identify areas of improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement biosecurity measures across all operational aspects from product development till processing.
Work with external consultants and advisors to stay up to date regarding new regulations, guidelines, and best practices for aquaculture biosecurity & Laboratory techniques.
Update and maintain records and databases to ensure that all information is accurate and that records are maintained in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
Provide administrative support to the management team as needed, including preparing reports and presentations.
