Job Description

AMICO is a specialized medical device distribution company operating across the MENA region. It has the largest network amongst its peers with operations in 12 countries across the region. It specializes in 8 key segments which include Dermatology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, ENT Optical, Diagnostics, and Surgical Therapies.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Effectively manage the human, financial, and physical resources of the HR department, adhering to agreed budgets and operational plans in Saudi Arabia.
  • Manage the relationships with the Human Resources Development Fund HRDF and the Government Saudization Programs.
  • Collaborate with AMICO executive management, line managers, HR team, and other stakeholders to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Design strategic initiatives to ensure organizational effectiveness at all tier levels.
  • Design, lead, and enable execution of organizational design efforts across stakeholders and cross functional teams.
  • Effectively lead the organization through periods of significant change and rapid growth
  • Demonstrate strong people leadership to attract, develop and retain the HR talent necessary to provide optimized HR service for Region 1.
  • In collaboration with the different stakeholders, anticipate, gather facts to explore and identify opportunities, difficulties or situations that influence effectiveness.
  • Propose and discuss actionable plans to establish mutual expectations, common grounds and projects scope and resource requirements to improve engagement and effectiveness. Outline the success indicators of the change solutions based on information and data analysis.
  • Lead initiatives that benefit individual growth, career development, management and leadership development, and performance improvement
  • Manage employee relations issues utilizing appropriate counselling, investigative, intervention, and mediation techniques in a compliant manner with KSA labour laws.
  • Work closely with other members of the executive team to share responsibility and accountability for setting objectives and achieving goals to drive the improved performance of the business.
  • Develop a strong and sustainable workforce capable of addressing both immediate and future staffing requirements.
  • Ensure that disciplinary and performance issues are handled in accordance with AMICO HR policy, legislation, and best practices.
  • Provide professional guidance to the business regarding the identification of future staffing needs and effective resource allocation to meet these needs.
  • Monitor and manage the directorate budget, including cost improvement plans, to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Be responsible for sourcing appropriate legal advice regarding Human Resources and staffing matters.
  • In addition, this dynamic, high energy, results-oriented leader will create proactive plans and will partner with the HR from other Regions to ensure effective execution of programs and initiatives in talent acquisition, culture change, diversity and inclusion, performance management, talent management and development, employee relations, total rewards and recognition, change management, and organization effectiveness.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Educated to Degree level and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
  • 15-20 years of experience leading and developing HR functions in a mid-size global company, partnering with executive leaders on strategic projects.
  • Strong understanding of finance, including P&L management
  • Innovative thinker and thriver in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong track record in performance management through data-driven metrics
  • This HR leader must be a strong collaborator who can drive alignment & on time execution of initiatives and projects, global growth, organizational design, M&A/integration.
  • Experience with Healthcare/ Medical Devices/ product company, especially dealing with distributors, manufacturing sites.
  • Ideally experience in talent acquisition, managing commercial functions with in-house Sales and Marketing teams, employee relations, and employment law in a global company, particularly in KSA and UAE.
  • Collaborative nature and possess a passion for creating a positive company culture.
