Role Purpose

The integrated Digital Solutions Manager is responsible for all technical aspects of the key components of smart/cognitive buildings and cities such as BMS, IBMS, security, VMS, AV, LBS, PSIM, energy management, perimeter intrusion detection systems, drones, virtual concierge, information points, fire alarm & detection, fire fighting and fire suppression, and command and control center.

He is also responsible for making sure that IBMS, sub-systems, and smart digital solutions are well defined and aligned with the use cases and building infrastructure to reduce risk, achieve exceptional user experience, and decrease construction and operating costs. He is also responsible for the technical designs that ensure seamless integration between various systems, subsystems, and smart digital solutions.

In addition, he closely coordinates with BMS, sub-systems, and smart digital solutions vendors/partners to develop the Interface Control Document (ICD), with details about types and number of points and the associated protocols, to mitigate technical risk during the project execution.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Core Mandate

• Extensive knowledge of end-to-end solutions for smart building and solutions, including field devices, various sensors, IoT devices, gateways, protocols, platforms, and the associated integration aspects
• Extensive knowledge of smart digital solutions deployed in smart buildings and cities
• Rich exposure to use cases and use journeys and digital solutions packages that enables them
• Deep knowledge of BMS & IBMS landscape as well as sub-systems connected to IBMS central platform
• Knowledge on IBMS central platform integrated with various BMS systems distributed in different facilities/buildings/cities
• Good experience in developing Interface Control Document (ICD), with details about types and number of points and the associated protocols, to mitigate technical risk during the project execution
• Creation of RFP for various systems such as IBMS, CCTV and Access Control system, Digital Lighting Control, VMS, AV, LBS, PSIM, Command and Control Center for building and for cities level, ...etc
• Review & evaluate the vendor and partner RFP technical proposals to ensure vendor has covered all required design elements that enables use cases and user journeys
• Review vendors and partners technical presentation for the proposed solutions to ensure it meets and satisfy the desired smart/cognitive city solutions
• Deep knowledge of analytics platforms that enables data from various building systems to be collected, consolidated, analyzed, processed & made available for various purposes such as energy consumption optimization, KPIs monitoring, ...etc
• Extensive knowledge on energy efficiency (minimizing energy use and maximizing cost savings) through automatic turning on/off and adjustment of HVAC systems, lighting, and other systems
• Deep knowledge of the Industrial standard protocols like BACnet/IP, BACnet/MSTP, SNMP, Modbus, M-BUS, MQTT, ONVIF ..etc
• Deep knowledge of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) that collects and correlate event from security devices and information system (video, access control, sensor, analytics, network, building system etc.) to enable automation, workflows, processes, and provide integrated management through a unified interface
• Review of fire detection and alarm systems, fire fighting and fire suppression systems to provide the high level interface with Smart Digital solutions to meet the safety and security procedure and regulations.
• Business and financial acumen: Products and solutions need to be not only technical but also commercially viable. Business and financial acumen are required for cost analysis
• Desirable to have a knowledge of Facility & Asset Managementdocum systems
• Desirable to have knowledge of BIM optimization process to ingest the BIM file to Digital Twin
• Problem-solving: The nature of the products and the complexity of the organization demand good and innovative problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication skills: Both written and verbal communication skills, as well as experience presenting at all levels, are required
• Team leadership and management skills:  Ability to lead cross-functional teams with no hierarchical dependence and manage successfully complex projects that have many stakeholders
• Negotiation: Negotiation is a frequent activity in this position. Negotiation skills are required with the internal stakeholders as well as external players such as potential vendors and partners
