    Applications are invited for the position of IT Specialist at Niagara College KSA, Makkah male campus. The position requires the ability to run day-to-day operations of the IT systems in the college in order to provide quality client service.


    Reporting to the Manager of IT, the role of this position serves to support IT operations of the college by working with internal and external stakeholders, provide staff training on newly installed software and programs, and works collaboratively with other departments. The IT Specialist will also develop and document procedures as well as provide hardware and software support.


    It is expected that the incumbent be flexible in terms of hours of work and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact regarding internal and external relations. Travel between campuses will be required. Niagara College supports a wide range of computer related equipment and software including but not limited to Microsoft Windows OS and office software, Apple OS, Linux, Cisco (telephones, switches and routers).


    This position has a duration of 12 months, with possibility of renewal, and with a start date of as soon as possible.




    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


    • Install and maintain computer hardware/software and other equipment for administrative, academic, student and support staff, providing technical support for computer-related and other equipment problems

    • Install and maintain telephone hardware/software and other equipment for administrative, academic, student and support staff, providing technical support as needed

    • Install and maintain printers, scanners and audio visual equipment for administrative, academic, student and support staff, providing technical support as needed

    • Support, design, maintain and monitor internal and external networks

    • Implement and manage network related systems, applications, security and configurations

    • Resolve network performance issues and establish a network disaster recovery plan

    • Recommend upgrades or patches for both applications and equipment

    • Provide technical support and guidance to users

    • Identify problems and related issues, analyze the behavior of issues in comparison to what is needed

    • Resolve client problems related to software and hardware

    • Evaluate, design, implement and maintain software to meet the current goals, both enterprise and academic

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot and document related problems

    • Assist in planning, evaluating and selecting new hardware and software

    • Manages small or short-duration projects

    • Manages mission-critical systems

    • Supervises other ITS staff and manages more than one project

    • Manages long-duration projects

    • Assists in the preparation of project budgets

    • Attends meetings as am ITS representative, as needed


    Required qualifications, at a minimum, include:


    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline

    • Three to five (3 - 5) years’ related work experience is essential

    • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English
