Junior Accountant

The Role:

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks to support the finance department's day-to-day operations. This role requires a candidate who is eager to learn, possesses strong analytical skills, and can manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. Prepare and issue VAT invoices to clients, tracking receivables and following up on outstanding payments. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to maintain accurate financial records.

Handling Cash:

Checking petty cash vouchers and cash disbursement. Updating cash report and recording cash vouchers in system on daily basis.

General Ledger Entries:

Record and categorize financial transactions in the general ledger. Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation to facilitate audits and reviews.

Bank Reconciliation:

Reconcile monthly bank statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies. Monitor cash flow and report any issues or concerns to the Finance Manager.

Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management. Generate and analyze financial reports, providing insights into financial performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with other departments to obtain necessary financial information. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

VAT Compliance:

Assisting Sr Accountant in preparation of monthly VAT return.

Ad-Hoc Tasks and Projects:

Support the Finance Manager and finance team in various ad-hoc tasks and projects.

Take initiative to propose and implement process improvements in the accounting department.
