PIPING SUPERVISOR

Overview: As a Piping Supervisor, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems within industrial facilities, construction sites, or manufacturing plants. Your role involves managing a team of pipefitters, welders, and technicians to ensure the safe and efficient execution of piping projects. You will coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and project managers to meet project deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Project Planning and Coordination:
• Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to review project plans, specifications, and schedules for piping installations, upgrades, or repairs.
• Develop work plans, construction schedules, and resource allocation strategies to ensure timely completion of piping projects within budget and scope.
• Coordinate with procurement teams to procure materials, equipment, and supplies required for piping installations and maintenance activities.
• Team Leadership and Supervision:
• Lead and supervise a team of pipefitters, welders, and helpers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor work progress to optimize productivity, efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job site inspections to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Piping Installation and Maintenance:
• Oversee the layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of piping systems, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty alloy piping, according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ensure proper alignment, fit-up, and welding of piping components, joints, and connections, following welding procedures and quality assurance standards.
• Conduct inspections, tests, and pressure checks on piping systems to verify integrity, functionality, and compliance with design requirements and industry standards.
• Quality Assurance and Control:
• Implement quality control measures, inspection procedures, and documentation protocols to verify the quality and integrity of piping installations and welds.
• Perform visual inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and weld inspections to detect defects, discontinuities, or deviations from quality standards.
• Document inspection results, maintain records of welding procedures, material certifications, and compliance documentation, and ensure traceability of piping components.
• Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
• Enforce safety policies, procedures, and practices to mitigate hazards, prevent accidents, and promote a safe working environment for personnel involved in piping operations.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations, and implement corrective actions and preventive measures to prevent recurrence.
• Client Communication and Reporting:
• Serve as a point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, milestones, and any issues or concerns related to piping activities.
• Prepare progress reports, work logs, and as-built drawings documenting piping installations, modifications, and repairs, and communicate project status to project managers and clients as required.
