Core Accountabilities
- Uses the weekly lesson planning approach, in collaboration with others, to plan lessons and implement a range of strategies to improve student learning outcomes
- Implements effective student management strategies consistent with the rights and responsibilities of students and teachers at the school and applies appropriate expectations and consequences in their classroom
- Assesses student learning using rubrics for learning goals and reports on students’ progress at the expected times online
- Participates in professional learning, planning implementation and reflection of the curriculum that affects their grades and adds to their understanding of the scope and sequence of learning across the school
- Supports the social development and wellbeing of their class of students through a range of strategies e.g. a homeroom tutor system, activities program and cultural events
- Works as part of a team of teachers to differentiate the learning and personalize the learning for students to improve their outcomes, using individual learning plans as appropriate
- Integrates information learning technology strategies (using smartboard and iPad) into the teaching and learning program to engage students in learning
- Participates in the development of the schools’ standards based assessment and reporting practices
- Develops, delivers and leads professional learning for colleagues to improve classroom practices
- Other duties as directed by the Principal
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated use of a range of teaching practices and resources that engages students in effective learning
- Demonstrated classroom teaching skills that create and maintain a challenging and safe learning environment
- Demonstrated ability to know how student learn, plan and assess for effective learning and how to teach students effectively
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural sensitivities in the Saudi Arabian context and their impact on teaching and learning
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with student, parents and teachers
- Demonstrated commitment to student welfare and the capacity to make a positive contribution to the transformational journey of the school
- Demonstrated capacity to work with students who are bilingual, with English as their second language
Requirements for Primary School Teachers
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Previous teaching experience
