Role Purpose:
The Project Director will be responsible for leading and overseeing the successful execution of a multi-billion dollar, multi-project real estate development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role requires a strong background in construction project management, with expertise in managing complex, multi-phased projects. The Project Director will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the project is completed within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
What this job involves:
Project Planning and Execution
Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations. Coordinate all aspects of the project, including design, procurement, construction, and closeout. Oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to project milestones and deliverables. Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed. Monitor progress, regularly reporting updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications. Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure project alignment and successful delivery. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met throughout the project. Communicate project updates to internal teams and stakeholders, addressing any concerns or challenges.
Team Leadership and Management
Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary project team, providing clear direction and guidance. Foster collaboration and effective communication among team members. Monitor team performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and support. Collaborate with HR department to recruit, onboard, and develop team members as needed.
Quality Control and Safety
Ensure compliance with quality control standards, codes, and regulations. Implement and maintain safety protocols and practices on the construction site. Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve any quality or safety issues.
Desired skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Proven experience (minimum 20 years) in construction project management, with a focus on mixed-use projects, previous work experience in Gulf region is a must. Strong knowledge of construction management principles, techniques, and best practices. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of successfully leading multidisciplinary project teams. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Proven track record of delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
