Job Description
The QS C&A Section Head/Manager is responsible for overseeing the Quantity Surveying and Costing & Analysis section within the organization. They play a key role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects and ensuring they are completed within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors and Cost Analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Prepare and review project cost estimates, budgets, and schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve project profitability.
- Review and approve contractor invoices and change orders, ensuring they are in line with project budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to provide cost-related advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to negotiate favorable pricing and terms.
- Monitor and report on project financial performance, highlighting any variances or issues to senior management.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying and cost analysis to continuously improve department processes and procedures.
