Job Description

  • Select and operate appropriate equipment for each exam.
  • Position patients according to examinations requested.
  • Select appropriate technical factors for each patient.
  • Produce radiographs of acceptable film quality.
  • Use suitable working practices to ensure that all radiation protect regulations are complied with.
  • Ensure the physical safety of each and every patient.
  • Aid the Radiologist in the administration of contrast media.
  • Responsible for delegated areas of responsibility or specific procedures as  assigned.
  • Responsible for instruction of staff, if so assigned.
  • Ensure rooms are in a state of cleanliness and readiness at all times.
  • Report all equipment malfunctions to the Head of Medical Imaging.
  • Assist in the emergency treatment of patients.
  • Observe all infection control standard laid down in policy documents, particularly in respect of sterile procedures.
  •  Maintain a correct attitude of professional conduct and conform to all normal ethical relationships.
  •  Actively participate in the departmental quality assurance and in- service   Programs
  • Through the chain command and/ or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the Hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm.
  • Performs the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation and assures that facility is in compliance with all government, local laws, and accreditation standards.
  • Sharing in patient education and awareness about radiation exposure hazard specially in pregnant ladies.
  • Perform other applicable tasks assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and ability.
