Job Description

Responsibilities
- Sr. Logistics local In-Charge acts as a supervisor by overseeing the local distribution
network, and warehousing process.
- He will also be responsible for managing the inventory stored within the warehouses.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics vision, strategy,
policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Manage the entire delivery process of products and constantly monitoring them to make
sure each product arrives on time to ensure the logistical processes are running smoothly.
- Deal with transportation companies, negotiate rates and contracts.
- Responsible to streamline processes and reduce relevant costs.
- Manage and develop logistics staff.


General Task
 Organizing warehouse, and labelling products.
 Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives.
 Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with logistics providers,
transportation companies and customers.
 Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the
organization to improve operational and financial performance.
 Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and
service.
 Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
 Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers.
 Recommend optimal transport modes, routes and frequency.
 Select carriers, suppliers and regularly evaluate services.
 Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures for product transit and
delivery.
 Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems and customer issues.
 Assess, recommend and implement logistics processes in potential new facilities or
plants.
 Coordinate with other relevant departments.


 Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements.
 Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system
records are in agreement.
 Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock.
 Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process.
 Ensure IT systems in place are effective, maintained and up to date.
 Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentations are available.



Required skills:
 Proven supervision skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
 Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
 Proven analytical, problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to handle
multiple projects through to completion.
 Commercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure.


Qualifications and Experience Levels:


 Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree.
 At least 10 years of prior experience working in the warehousing, logistics, supply chain,
or transportation function for electrical or mechanical products (preferably), along with
an in-depth knowledge of logistics practices. Having an in-charge position/title within the
logistics department of at least 5 years.
 Expert knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics including security
requirements.
 Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including knowledge and understanding of
specialist systems such as (ERP).
