Senior Structural Engineer

Job Description



- Building Design Review Leadership:
- Lead and oversee the review and analysis of structural drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and review team members, fostering their professional development and growth.
- Establish and maintain review processes, methodologies, and quality standards to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in design evaluations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on structural design review matters, providing insights, recommendations, and solutions to complex design challenges.
- Code Compliance and Standards:
- Stay abreast of updates to building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to structural design and construction practices, and ensure their consistent application in design reviews.
- Interpret and apply relevant code provisions, design criteria, and best practices to assess the compliance of building designs with structural requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address design issues, resolve conflicts, and achieve consensus on recommended solutions.
- Technical Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct in-depth technical analyses, simulations, and calculations to validate the adequacy, stability, and performance of structural designs.
- Prepare comprehensive review reports documenting findings, observations, and recommendations regarding the structural integrity and safety of building designs.
- Present review findings and recommendations to project teams, clients, and regulatory authorities in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
- Collaborate with project managers and design teams to implement recommended design revisions and improvements based on review feedback.

Qualifications



Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Extensive experience in structural engineering with a focus on building design review and analysis, including a minimum of 15 years of senior-level experience.
Expert knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to structural design and construction.
Proficiency in advanced structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and inspire junior engineers and review team members.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy in design review processes.
