Job Description

Role Purpose: The Solution Architecture Manager assumes the Solution and applications architecture leadership and performs architectural analysis tasks related to the development of enterprise solution and applications architecture at NEOM CG, researches and implements solution and applications reference architecture, and ensures the provision of timely and authoritative advice and support to the various EAO stakeholders.


Key responsibilities: 


•    Understand, advocate and support NEOM CG business and IT strategies and ensure business IT alignment from an applications architecture perspective.


•    Lead the development of NEOM CG solution and applications architecture viewpoints and deliverables (As-Is Applications Architecture, Target Applications Architectures, and gap analysis) and recommend applications roadmap supporting the business needs of NEOM CG.


•    Participate in conducting solution and application architecture compliance reviews for implementation projects and provide recommendations as needed.


•    Recommend enhancements to solution and architecture governance to the solution and application architect.


•    Consult with project teams to fit projects to enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture to accommodate project needs from a solution and application point of view.


•    Participate in evaluating change requests and conducting impact analysis.


•    Research and analyze contemporary and emerging technological trends and provide recommendations.


•    Contribute to the development of new RFPs for the IT initiatives and evaluate the responses from applications point of view. 


•    Contribute to providing consultations and awareness services to EAO and the wider NEOM CG stakeholders on subject related to applications and their trends (such as service orientation, solution design patterns, mobile technologies, and others).


•    Ensure all applications architecture artifacts are properly managed within the EA Repository (ARIS).


•    Participate in developing and refreshing NEOM CG IT strategic plans.


•    Play an active role in supervising the solution and application architects for delivering on their corresponding tasks.
•    Attend meetings with the business and IT stakeholders for requirements gathering and decision making.
•    Actively participate in the creation or evolution of the enterprise architecture function/program.
•    Work closely with the research companies and technology vendors to analyse specific technical challenges, tools and trends.
•    Report to the EAO Head on the overall performance of the applications architecture activities and the EA engagements.
•    Promote the EA process, outcomes and results to the organization, including the enterprise's IT and business leaders.
•    Follow all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
•    Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, and practices taking into account leading practices, improvement of Applications, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
•    Promote the implementation and adherence to policies, processes and operating procedures to others within NEOM CG.
•    Support the team in daily activities and aims to transfer his knowledge to less experienced colleagues and to orient them on applied policies and procedures.
 


Knowledge and Experience:


•    10+ years of experience in Information Technology.
•    At least 5 years of working in solution and application architecture including assessing current state and designing target applications architecture models.
•    Previous experience in Public sector and government settings is highly preferable
•    Excellent understanding of EA and Solution architecture pattern and concepts and frameworks including SOAP, REST APIS, Micro Services, ESB, etc.
•    Excellent understanding & sufficient  experience in enterprise technology products such as case management (PEGA) and Enterprise Integration Solutions (Software AG) 
•    Proven experience in designing complex integration IT solutions.
•    Demonstrated ability to exhibit amazing problem solving skills daily, viewing each new problem as an opportunity for success
•    Track record of approaching challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution
•    Understanding of solution and applications reference architecture and patterns (such as mobile application reference model, cloud-based architecture reference model, etc.)
•    Understanding of the emerging technology stack (Cloud, Mobility, Big Data, and Analytics) and their value from applications architecture point of view. 
•    Excellent experience with building cognitive and smart cities
•    Good management and leadership skills.
•    Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
•    Ability to communicate with varying levels of stakeholders and build relationships effectively.


Education and Certifications:


•    A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
•    Certification in TOGAF is highly preferred.
