    Job Description

    Summary:

    The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager will provide leadership and direction to GSII –EHS field managers. Establish long-term EHS goals and develop the means to monitor, manage and achieve EHS goals and commitments. Develop and/or grow client relationships to effectively canvass and penetrate market opportunities. Exercise means to reduce overall I&I rates as well as Workers Compensation cost by preparing detailed forecasts and projections of EHS preventative measures and effectively presenting those findings to the Regional EHS Manager. Act as a Granite Spokesperson, as required, by clearly articulating, orally and in writing, EHS “added-value” services and capabilities.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     Establish and maintain an effective Accident Prevention Program in support of Engineering Service’s Zero Tolerance Safety goals.
     Ensure that supervisors and all other employees of GSII are informed of GSII’s Safety Policies and EHS standards.
     Be proactive in approach by staying abreast of and communicating the latest safety trends.
     Be prepared for unannounced local country audits and inspections.
     Support recruitment and safety efforts by maintaining an effective Drug-Testing Program and a drug free workplace.
     Travel to jobsites to conduct safety audits and training. Establish a good rapport with site supervision.
     Deliver or organize any company/client job-specific training when needed / requested.
     Manage EHS incident and injury reporting within specified local country guidelines. Conduct timely and accurate follow-up investigations.
     Interface with GE’s and or other customer regional and site safety personnel.
     Organize and coordinate safety equipment arrival/storage/distribution as required.
     Design and issue forms, in line with ISO procedures, as necessary for effective documentation of safety efforts through-out GSII
     Performs other duties as assigned.

     Excellent communication and management skills, a high level of organizational ability, and demonstrate leadership ability through strategic decision-making
     Effective planning and organizing abilities
     Possess troubleshooting, problem solving, and creative/innovative thought processing skills
     Strong presentation skills utilizing PowerPoint for presentations to clients.
     Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with all levels of employees.
     Understand office formats and procedures, including Microsoft Office Suite and Internet
     Exposure to both Field and Office environments and the ability to interact effectively in both.


    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s Degree in a Safety related curriculum, or the equivalent in training and relevant experience in an EHS management related position in construction, power generation or technical industry (progressively more responsibility – i.e. specialist, administrator, coordinator, etc.). Applicable local certifications not required but strongly recommended. Field experience not required but strongly recommended.
