Job description
Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
We are seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to oversee, manage, and maintain facility infrastructure, utility systems, and critical support projects in an SCD (Single Crystal Diamond) Ingot Fab environment. This role involves planning, executing, and optimizing projects related to process cooling water, HVAC, compressed Air, and exhaust to ensure uninterrupted, efficient, and high-tech manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will combine project management skills with hands-on maintenance oversight, working closely with the facilities team, contractors, tool installation teams, and process engineers to drive project execution and ensure compliance with semiconductor industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute Fab facility projects, including factory expansions, equipment installations, and critical utility system upgrades.
- Oversee process cooling water (PCW), UHP gas distribution, deionised (DI) water, compressed dry air (CDA), and HVAC systems to ensure optimal Fab operations.
- Manage contractors and vendors, including bidding, contract negotiations, scope definition, performance tracking, and ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Work with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to coordinate construction, maintenance, and system modifications within an active Fab environment. Ensure contractors comply with Fab safety protocols, EU directives, and local environmental regulations.
- Utilize AutoCAD or similar software to design facility layouts and piping diagrams.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing maintenance plans for industrial equipment and critical utilities to maximize uptime and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field with 3 to 5 years of experience in facilities project engineering within high-tech manufacturing facilities.
- Strong understanding of Fab utility systems, including any of the following: process cooling water (PCW), UHP gas distribution, deionized (DI) water, compressed dry air (CDA), and HVAC systems.
- Experience with construction, expansions, and modifications. Proven experience in contractor and vendor management, including negotiation, scheduling, compliance enforcement, and performance oversight.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and project management software.
- Desired work experience in electrical installation LV and Control Systems, and/or ultra-high-purity gas distribution.
