  1. Immerse yourself in whatever you are selling; become an expert at it with an answer to every possible question. That's your first lead to confidence.
  2. Prepare well before every sales-engagement; do proper pre-sale research on prospect.
  3. Practise your sales pitch, sales conversation skills in real life.
  4. Don't shy away from asking questions from seniors.

As compared to above people, i am just a novice but here are my takes on the topic:

Dont enforce your product on the customers. Look from their perspective, give them a way out and persuade them.

Everyone above is right about knowing your own product but i would suggest creating a story behind it. Products with a story go far ahead with customers.

Practice story telling not the usual sales pitch and most importantly tell your customers the benefits of your product along with the shortcomings. This makes you look natural and honest.

Provide them with reviews and ratings from authentic influencers or people they know. Both milennials and baby boomers love it.

Oh and dont forget to use graphics for your pitching. People love pictures and videos.
