Can it be solved without using excel and scientific calculator (Only simple calculator may be used)?

Step1 : press √ till comes3 zero from decimal place and count nos of times. Step2: less1 and divide by12 then add1 again. Step3: press multiple 'X' and '=' for those nos of time which you counted above. In this case '√ '7 times and don't press extra button

=(1+.0931)^1/12=1+.0931/12 ( to first approximation)

=1+-00776=1.00776

1.0931 and square root it6 times (u hav sqaure root on the simple calculator right> i.e ^1/2 ?

 

If u dont have square root, you can also solve it using Logs (if u hav log tables)

 

or lastly, if nothing else, u can use iteration (basically trial and error)..

 

try1.1*1.1*1.1.... (12 times).. then1.2 ... if close, u can go to1.15 etc
