BI/BW Stands for Business Intelligence , Business Intelligence Warehouse or Business Warehouse. It is a readymade software for datawarehousing. It Contains Old/Historical data. Using BI we can extract data from different type of data sources.

No they are not, but they are usually integral to each other...

 

Business Warehouse (BW) can be described as a Database which structures huge amount of data in different data structures. It could be a flat table or a complex cube which can be sliced from different directions.

 

Business Intelligence (BI) on the other hand is the brain of the operation and it leverage the BW to come up with views and reports. Those reports can be about a snapshot in the present, past or even forecasting the future based on historical data from BW.

 

This my take on a simple answer for your question, maybe other members would be able to explain better or even correct mine :)
