To teach highly skilled professionals, the teaching methods of their teacher / instructor / lecturer must be grounded in educational learning theory. As most of the students will be highly educated and must have a high IQ, their learning ability & questioning skills must be very sharp.

Establishing the learning process is a key element and provides a framework for teacher / instructor / lecturer to plan, create and deliver effective lessons, and assess the learning outcomes.

The reality is that teaching should come to facilitate student’s reach to answers and to encourage them to think for in reality human curiosity nature that seeks answers serves more than well to ignite the spark of learning. The teacher in best should get students to discover answers rather than spoon feeding them with knowledge this is best because when they work hard on learning something they will never forget it and more if they managed to find the answer today they will be able to answer it tomorrow even if the circumstances changed, this is why I most prefer Student centered teaching methodologies.

Agreeing to Mr Vinod Jately, I would strongly emphasize on use of practical case scenarios synchronized with the modern academic theories and models, encourage group discussions in the class, engaging students into research based assignments are essential tools/methods which must be utilized for developing an intellectually enriched learning environment, for a class of highly educated participants.

Last but not the least, the instructor must conduct fresh research on the topics involved, and should be well prepared to provide logical answers to the students with clarity and precision. A ten minutes question & answer session at the end of each session is a MUST.

Hope it helps your query,

Cheers:) Noman

Philosophy of education can refer to either the academic field of applied philosophy or to one of any educational philosophies that promote a specific type or vision of education, and/or which examine the definition, goals and meaning of education.

As an academic field, philosophy of education is "the philosophical study of education and its problems...its central subject matter is education, and its methods are those of philosophy"."The philosophy of education may be either the philosophy of the process of education or the philosophy of the discipline of education. That is, it may be part of the discipline in the sense of being concerned with the aims, forms, methods, or results of the process of educating or being educated; or it may be metadisciplinary in the sense of being concerned with the concepts, aims, and methods of the discipline." As such, it is both part of the field of education and a field of applied philosophy, drawing from fields of metaphysics, epistemology, axiology and the philosophical approaches (speculative, prescriptive, and/or analytic) to address questions in and about pedagogy, education policy, and curriculum, as well as the process of learning, to name a few.[3] For example, it might study what constitutes upbringing and education, the values and norms revealed through upbringing and educational practices, the limits and legitimization of education as an academic discipline, and the relation between educational theory and practice.

Instead of being taught in philosophy departments, philosophy of education is usually housed in departments or colleges of education, similar to how philosophy of law is generally taught in law schools. The multiple ways of conceiving education coupled with the multiple fields and approaches of philosophy make philosophy of education not only a very diverse field but also one that is not easily defined. Although there is overlap, philosophy of education should not be conflated with educational theory, which is not defined specifically by the application of philosophy to questions in education. Philosophy of education also should not be confused with philosophy education, the practice of teaching and learning the subject of philosophy.

Philosophy of education can also be understood not as an academic discipline but as a normative educational theory that unifies pedagogy, curriculum, learning theory, and the purpose of education and is grounded in specific metaphysical, epistemological, and axiological assumptions. These theories are also called educational philosophies. For example, a teacher might be said to follow a perennialist educational philosophy or to follow a perennialist philosophy of education.

According to me the best philosophy of teaching high skilled professional is creating an environment which is understandable to all. The environment of classroom should be friendly and communicative. The students should chance to response and teachers should be repeat their answer. And the main philosophy is there should be discussion in every topic and students should be participate on the discussion.

the trick here is the "focus', on what should we focus? Most of the answers focused on what should the instructor/trainer do from the point of view of the trainer/instructor, while the reverse should be made, looking at the needs of the trainees from their point of view.

What do highly skilled professionals need?

New learning opportunities, new knowledge, practical solutions, answering questions in related fields of expertise ... etc.

Therefore the first step is to determine their actual needs (needs analysis) and based on that you can design the teaching philosophy through the choice of the suitable methods of delivery which can best deliver that content. Hands-on exercises, group discussions, simulations, self-assessment activities could be the appropriate learning tools that can be used to teach this category.

Please remember, you have to know their actual needs not to assume you know it. Facts are totally different from assumptions.

All the best
