The difference between sale and add sale is add on comes with more features like if we buy a car insurance  normal policy it does take care of all damages but if you buy a zero debt policy full car is insured by add on policy

Add on sales is selling the same product to the customer , a cross sales is pitching a related product to the customer, example of add on is selling laptops to a company, first order is100 than you add on50 after2 month. A cross sales example is pitching a camera or headsets to your customer.To convince a customer to buy expensive products , you first have to understand the buying motives of your customer, is it to reduce time? Is it to automate the process?once you understand why your customer wants to spend money on a solution , you can find out his budget and based on that you can artchitect a tailored solution that would be to his every need. Asking many questions and communicating clearly with the customer will help with building a trust between you and your customer which facilitates the decision process. And always make sure you are pitching ideas to key personnels . Adding a very fast response to his every email and understanding the solution you are giving110% the sales should be yours .
