Casting of Raft foundation concrete, the most important factor is temperature control due to heat of hydration in the exothermic reaction due to water cement reaction. the irregular thermal expansion will cause a major cracks within concrete structure. mostly experienced in mass concrete that the temperature rises up to 80 °C. It rises not at a sudden. As the thickness and area of the raft foundation increases the temperature difference will be more from bottom to top and one point to the other. It causes some area tensile stresses are more and some it will be lower. this difference in stresses will cause major cracks in the structure. To avoid this issue need to modify mix design of concrete by adding a proportional amount of GGBS cement in the mix.
2nd thing which is more important is to check in concrete is monitoring temperature at different points like bottom, top and middle position, also at different areas. the temperature monitoring will be a long process that it ends in mostly 5 to 7 days till the temperature stabilized.
carefully check that at any time interval the temperature difference between any point must not be more than 20°C.
you have to check the concrete mix ratio and the concrete class say C30 to C35 concrete class is actually suitable for raft foundation.
