Research skills, crisp writing, editing, factual accuracy etc

I think that's pretty similar to what students are taught in print journalism and broadcast media since online is a combination of both and more. Plus online media is far more interactive than other traditional media.

Research skills, crisp writing, editing, factual accuracy etc. Proximity in this case may or may not matter however relevance/news-worthiness of what is being reported does stand.
