Before you try to figure out what to do and how to do it, the most important question is why to do it ?

 

This is an age of specialization. Trying to sell or manufacture all products may not be a good idea. If you have unlimited resources, its fine but it is still not an efficient way to do business.There are many trends but i can mention only a few here on this forums.

 

1.Try to focus on a particular segment of customers and understand their needs and give more and more of what they want.

 

2. Outsourcing is rampant in B2B segment. So if you are supplying to hotels, it makes sense not only to supply them bedsheets, curtains and uniforms but also provide the laundry. Business like the idea of working with a single supplier who can give a complete solution.

 

3.Business shy away from capital expenditure since at this current times, cash flow is limited. By providing the above products to the hotel along with laundry service you can charge them a monthly fee, instead of charging them for the cost of the products. The monthly fee can take care of the cost of the material, the laundry and the handling costs. Customer will benefit that they incur operating costs not capital expenditure.

 

4. Look at resources you have and see if you can succeed in the particular segment or industry you are targetting . You might need professional help for the consultation purpose.
